On Saturday we took some of our new super power matcha green tea drinks to fuel the 76 competitors taking part in a 16 mile stand up paddleboard race which started at Hurley along the River Thames to Windsor. It was a brilliant day to be out and about by the river introducing our new drinks to lots of new and existing teapig fans!
The participants travelled from all over the country to take part, there was a few from my local SUP club; Waterborn back home in Devon who made the journey, Crispin arrived proudly sporting his POW t-shirt spreading the matcha message! Despite the 26 degree heat, I believe all 76 racers made it to the end which was under Eton Bridge in Windsor where we were to reward them with a nice cold matcha drink – well done to all who took part!
The event was organised by Bray Lake Watersports who have recently become a stockist of ours – if you’re in the area pop in for a cup of tea and check out the brilliant range of watersports they have to offer! Stand up paddleboarding is becoming hugely popular all over the country for all ages and abilities, clubs are popping up all over the place whether you’re by the sea, river or lake – give it a go!
