How time flies… we at teapigs hq can hardly believe it’s been 3 years since our teapigs matcha won ‘best slimming and fitness product 2011’ as voted for by Your Healthy Living readers, and since then we’ve been telling you lot how amazing our little superhero really is. 3 years on we’re chuffed to say he’s done it again and won the same award in 2014 – hurrah!
I hate to say ‘I told you so’ but we weren’t kidding when we said our matcha is super-duper!
In the last 3 years we’ve seen matcha’s presence in the UK grow rapidly. And since we released our handy matcha juice drinks earlier this year, perfect for on the go, more and more of you have got your hands on the stuff, and can’t seem to get enough of it.
This got us thinking… Not so long ago matcha could only be found in specialist Japanese food shops in the UK, but now it is cropping up in more and more places.
Those of you who are lucky enough to have visited Japan and tasted the delights it has to offer will probably be familiar with matcha frappacino’s, matcha kit kats and many more tasty matcha treats. We’ve got our fingers and toes crossed that it won’t be too long before we can walk into any coffee shop in the UK and see customers enjoying lovely bright green matcha lattes (preferably with a frothy milk top shaped like a bunny rabbit). teapigs have already got hundreds of cafes up and down the country serving them up, and with our pop up matcha bar launching in January, we reckon 2015 is going to be matcha man’s biggest year yet.
