We like our teapigs to travel around the world and for the past 9 months or so we’ve been served as the tea of choice in a popular coffee bar chain in Saudi Arabia. But alas, no longer. We were very disappointed to hear this week that we are now officially banned from this desert Kingdom, something to do with our name being offensive. Oh well. I guess that comes as no surprise. Here’s a few other things that are banned in Saudi too. Women drivers (shush, it may catch on), walking cats and dogs in Riyadh (so no poop and scoop), no birthday parties (boo hoo), no female dolls or teddies (sorry Barbie and poor Paddington too), no female athletes (our female Olympians have nothing to worry about this year then) and no red roses for Valentines (apparently the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice clamp down on such things). So if you are travelling out that way don’t be packing any teapigs in your hand baggage. Sorry.
